What does education verification involve?

Education verification is an important part of the background check. The goal is to confirm that the candidate truly has the education and degree listed in their CV or application.

This gives the client confidence and ensures that hiring decisions are based on documented and verifiable information.

What is verified?

We confirm the following:

  • Name of the educational institution
  • Degree or field of study (e.g., Bachelor in Economics)
  • Scope and duration (years studied, completed or ongoing)
  • Authenticity of documents and legitimacy of the institution

The information is verified through:

  • Public portals such as VitnemÃ¥lsportalen
  • Direct contact with educational institutions
  • International third-party services and databases

🇳🇴 Norwegian education via Vitnemålsportalen

For Norwegian candidates, we use Vitnemålsportalen where available. This portal retrieves diplomas and transcripts directly from the institutions and provides fast, secure, and complete confirmation.

The candidate will be instructed to:

  1. Go to vitnemålsportalen.no
  2. Log in and choose to share their education
  3. Send the sharing link to: support@manymore.com
  4. Set a sharing duration of at least one week

Everything is done digitally, with the candidate’s consent and secure access.

When information is not available in Vitnemålsportalen

If the information is not available through Vitnemålsportalen — for example, older education or vocational schools — we conduct a manual verification.

This involves:

  • The candidate uploads diplomas and transcripts
  • We assess the authenticity and contact details of the documents
  • We attempt to confirm the information directly with the institution

International education

For international education, we use:

  • Third-party verification services
  • Direct contact with foreign institutions
  • Comparison with international accreditation databases

The candidate must upload:

  • Diploma and transcript
  • Name of institution, degree, and completion year
  • Documentation in Norwegian, English, or with a translation

We assess whether:

  • The documentation is genuine
  • The institution is real and accredited
  • The education matches what was stated

What if something doesn't match?

If we find discrepancies or cannot confirm the education:

  • We document this in the report to the client
  • We do not assess the quality of the education

It is up to the client to decide how to follow up.
